Dane Eagle started his political career as travel aide to then-gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist, and seven years later, holds office himself as the 29-year-old state representative from Cape Coral.
Dane “genuinely loves” helping people on a daily basis and having the ability to make his community a better place. Valuing honesty and loyalty, Dane looks for loyal, hard-working people when beginning a project or campaign, and demonstrated those qualities himself as he rose through the ranks of Crist’s administration. At the age of 24, Dane had been the youngest in Florida’s history to serve as deputy chief of staff to a governor.
Dane admires House Speaker Will Weatherford for how he treats people with kindness and respect and puts principle over politics; and looks to his grandfather, WWII veteran and small-business owner as a mentor. “Learn everything you can from a member of the Greatest Generation before they’re all gone,” Dane wrote.

Here’s Dane in his own words:
I am 29 years-young.
I live in Cape Coral … Am from Cape Coral…. I went to school FGCU & UF I hope to visit Everywhere soon enough.
I entered politics because… I genuinely love being in a position where I can help people on a daily basis and have the influence to help make my community a better place.
One principle I always put above politics is… honesty & loyalty
Person or people who gave me my first shot: Charlie Crist. Politics aside, he’s a fair & decent man.
I’ve already worked for/on: Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor – youngest in Florida’s history at age 24.
When I begin a project or first work on a campaign, I look for… Competent/loyal/hard-working individuals
I’ve been blessed to have these people as my mentors: My grandfather – WWII vet/family man/small-business owner. Learn everything you can from a member of the Greatest Generation before they’re all gone.
The people I most admire in politics are: Will Weatherford. As Speaker of the Florida House at age 34 his political career is just beginning. His formula is quite simple yet lost on many: he values his family above all, treats people with kindness & respect, speaks the truth, understands the value of hard work, and puts principle over politics. Take note!
One lesson I’ve already learned is… Anything can be accomplished with the right attitude & the right work ethic.
If I wasn’t working in politics, I’d be working in… Real Estate/Construction
