Stephanie Rosendorf, 22, began working in politics during the 2008 election. Though barely old enough to vote, Stephanie became aware of the “various problems we faced in our country both economically and socially”, and set out to do something about it.
Her first break came from the Broward & Palm Beach Democratic Party. Stephanie has worked as a deputy campaign manager for school board candidate Nick Steffens, a deputy campaign manager for Delray Beach Mayor Cary Glickstein, on the 2012 Obama Campaign as a Neighborhood Team Leader, as a canvasser in Wellington collecting petitions to stop over-development of the town, and with the Florida College Democrats as Director of Political Affairs.
When Stephanie begins a project she looks for ways to succeed in achieving goals while making the process as enjoyable as possible. She credits politicians, such as Rep. Mark Pafford, for sticking with principles, and admires women who have grown up and succeeded in politics while also raising a family. Stephanie herself aspires for political office, where we may discover her to be ten years from now.
Here is Stephanie in her own words:
I am 22 years-young.
I am moving to Miami in August … I am from Coral Springs…. I went to school at FAU and am starting at Miami Law in August… I hope to visit Canada soon enough.
I entered politics because I got so fired up from the 2008 presidential election and I became aware of the various problems we faced in our country both economically and socially.
One principle I always put above politics is loyalty to my friends and loved ones.
Person or people who gave me my first shot: the Broward & Palm Beach Democratic Party.
I’ve already worked for/on: as a deputy campaign manager for school board candidate Nick Steffens, a deputy campaign manager for Delray Beach Mayor Cary Glickstein, on the 2012 Obama Campaign as a Neighborhood Team Leader, as a canvasser in Wellington collecting petitions to stop overdevelopment of the town, and with the Florida College Democrats as Director of Political Affairs.
When I begin a project or first work on a campaign, I look for… Ways to succeed in achieving my goals while making the process as enjoyable as possible for myself and others involved in the campaign or project. This includes making friends with my co-workers while maintaining the utmost professionalism and productivity.
I’ve been blessed to have these people as my mentors: Nick Steffens, Sean Phillipi, and many fellow College Democrats and Young Democrats.
The people I most admire in politics are: Politicians who stick to their principles, such as Representative Mark Pafford, as well as the activists that work tirelessly for positive change. I also admire the women who have grown up and succeeded in politics while simultaneously raising a family.
One lesson I’ve already learned is… It is very important to network and maintain positive relations with people throughout your political and career development.
If I wasn’t working in politics, I’d be working in education.
In ten years, you’ll read about me… hopefully in the Florida legislature.
