A company linked to Monster.com has filed a challenge to a decision by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity to reject all bids for a workforce technology contract.
Monster Government Solutions, a subsidiary of Monster Worldwide, Inc., filed an objection sent late last month to the Division of Administrative Hearings. Last year, the DEO sought proposals from companies to develop workforce-development technology including features such as labor exchanges, job matching system and a storehouse for online resumes.
Monster was one of 12 companies submitting responses to the department, claiming it was selected to begin negotiations in January.
After a process that lasted approximately two months, including face-to-face negotiations, Monster received notification on March 27 that the department will reject all bids.
The company seeks an order requiring the state award it the contract.
