More bad news for David Rivera: internal polling shows Dem. challenger Joe Garcia up by nine

The bad news continues for embattled US Rep. David Rivera.

The FBI and local police are investigating a Democratic congressional candidate who may have been paid by Rivera to criticize other Democrats seeking his seat.

Democratic challenger Joe Garcia has been added to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s “Red to Blue Program.”

And, now, internal polling shows Garcia leading by Rivera by nine points.

Voters prefer Joe Garcia over David Rivera 49% to 40%, with 11% undecided. Garcia is doing better among his base than Rivera: Garcia receives 87% of the vote among Registered Democrats, while 78% of Republicans support Rivera. Among Independents, Garcia leads by 27% (53% Garcia, 26% Rivera, 21% undecided).
