On Friday, Alex Sink announced that she would not run for governor in 2014. Instead, she’s going to focus her efforts on the foundation she created after the last election.
I sincerely wish Alex much success and have no doubt that she will continue to be a strong and important Democratic voice in Florida for many years come.
As you might expect, her decision not to run also had an important impact on our campaign – my phone hasn’t stopped ringing!
The race for governor will now be clearly framed between Rick Scott and me — or — should he decide to run – between Charlie Crist and me in a primary – and then Rick Scott.

Either way, I welcome the opportunity to present to Florida’s voters a clear choice between my lifelong commitment to working families and the middle class vs. either of their records.
