Nancy Argenziano dros congressional bid, will run for state House against Rep. Jimmie Smith

Barred by the law from joining the Democratic Party for this year’s election, former Republican lawmaker Nancy Argenziano said Wednesday she’ll drop a bid for Congress and make a run at returning to a Nature Coast-area House seat. Argenziano, who served in the House and Senate representing the Dunellon and Crystal River areas, said she’ll move from Tallahassee back to her Citrus County home and take on freshman Republican Rep. Jimmie Smith of Inverness.
