New children's issues committee to meet

The Senate’s “Select Committee on Protecting Florida’s Children,” will convene its first meeting on Monday and review what laws protecting children exist in other states as well as review pending 2012 legislation, reports the News Service of Florida. The committee was created in response to proposed “Caylee’s Law” bills filed in response to the death of two-year-old Caylee Anthony and subsequent highly-publicized trial of Casey Anthony.
