New Jeb Bush video whacks Donald Trump for being stumped on foreign policy

in 2017/Top Headlines by

Just in time for the Sunday morning shows, the Jeb Bush campaign on Saturday night is taking a shot at Donald Trump’s abilities to be the next commander in chief.

On Friday, Bush told Charlie Rose that he didn’t know if Trump had the right stuff to keep America safe. But a new web video released by the Bush camp on Saturday night shows that in fact, Bush has little confidence that Trump knows what he’s talking about at all when it comes to national security issues.

The ad is one of the more humorous ones released by the Bush camp. Called “Judgement,” it begins somberly, with haunting music underscoring a graphic reading how  the President of the United States is the most powerful commander in chief in the world, responsible for 4,650 nuclear weapons.

Then it segues into an image of Trump brushing his hair and making dubious statements about his foreign policy acumen, such as telling Meet The Press’ Chuck Todd that he “watches the shows,” when asked whom he relies upon for foreign policy advice.

There’s other quick clips, such as CNN’s Dana Bash quoting Trump as saying that he “always felt that I was serving in the military,” despite the fact that he’s never served in the military, and had draft deferments during the Vietnam war.

The ad also comes out a day after Trump told Bloomberg that, “When you talk about George Bush, I mean, say what you want, the World Trade Center came down during his time.”
