New Rick Scott scandal? Must be a day ending in ‘y,’ says American Bridge

Gov. Rick Scott is embroiled in another scandal.

It must be a day that ends in “Y,” says progressive watchdog group American Bridge 21st Century.

In a new video released Friday, Scott is once again under fire, this time over an elections complaint filed earlier in the week by a 30-year veteran of Broward County law enforcement, who accused the governor of using on-duty law enforcement as “political props” for campaign events.

Retired Police Lieutenant Jeff Marano of Hollywood filed a complaint under Florida Elections Statutes claiming that on June 16 and July 7, the governor’s office asked on-duty police officers to attend events to provide security.

Officers at the event were surprised to learn that it was, in fact, a political campaign press conference.

“The local press corps is not impressed,” according to the press release announcing the video, which calls Scott a “master of wrongdoing.”

The 40-second video is now available at YouTube.
