Nine companies based in St. Pete have made the 2015 Inc. 5000 list. The list is an annual ranking of the nation’s fastest growing private companies.
Trident Technical Solutions, a veteran-owned small business that helps with staffing and recruitment services, is the top-ranked company, coming in at number 446 on the list. The company has grown more than 1,000 percent and has an annual revenue of $3.4 million.
The next St. Pete company to make the list is Tower Cloud. The telecommunications company grew more than 300 percent with an annual revenue of $33.3 million. Tower Cloud provides broadband transport services throughout the southeastern United States.
St. Pete’s TheSSLStore.com fell at number 1,895 on the list with more than 200 percent growth and $5.1 million in annual revenue. The Internet-based company provides SSL security certificates to websites. They also have offices in the Netherlands and India.
The company behind software used by Pinellas County Schools also made the list at number 2,547. Focus Schools Software is used by students to manage assignments and check grades and also by parents to monitor their child’s school performance and easily communicate with teachers. Focus brings in $8 million annually and grew about 145 percent.
A St. Pete travel insurance company, Squaremouth, came in at number 2,703 on the list while email targeting company ePush! landed at 2,697. ARG Back Office staffing and recruiting service landed at number 3,782.
Coming in at 4,315 and 4,744 are CRA Therapy and Kobie Marketing. CRA Therapy provides special education needs for students with exceptional learning needs. Kobie Marketing offers client services to better reach customers.
St. Pete’s strong showing on the list is not surprising. The Sunshine City has grown by nearly 12,000 residents since the 2010 Census. That growth is in large part due to a development boom in downtown St. Pete that has ushered in numerous new condos, including many luxury waterfront units.
The news comes as St. Pete is exploring creating its own group aimed at attracting businesses to the area.
