With all of the speculation about Senator Bill Nelson possibly running for Governor in 2014, one of Nelson’s allies, former Congressman Jim Davis, drew notice from several media types yesterday when he was spotted at the Capitol. Veteran reporter Mike Vasalinda even tweeted that Davis was there “boosting” Nelson for Governor.
Turns out, Davis was in Tallahassee for the same reason everyone else is right now — the same reason why Willie Sutton robbed banks.
Because that’s where the money is.
According to the latest lobbyist registration database, Davis, who is employed by law firm Holland & Knight, is, as of yesterday, repping the Florida Hospital Association before the Legislature. Hence, Davis took in the meeting of the House committee dealing with the implementation of the PPACA.
