Palin-backed GOP candidate, who thinks Puerto Rico is a foreign country, plagiarizes Obama’s 2004 speech

From WaPo’s Dave Weigel: Lucas Baumbach, a Republican activist who is running for the state Senate in Idaho, has put together a wince-inducing video of Idaho congressional candidate Vaughn Ward and accuses him of plagiarizing chunks of Barack Obama’s career-making speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

Ward — an Iraq War veteran last seen refusing to back down from his belief that Puerto Rico is a foreign country — has benefited from support from Sarah Palin. Continue reading here.
