Pasco County businessperson Mike Moore is the guest of honor at a GOP fundraising event Sept. 18 hosted by New Port Richey State Sen. Wilton Simpson and Property Appraiser Mike Wells.
Moore, 42, is running for Pasco County Commissioner District 2, to succeed Pat Mulieri. He will face fellow Republican Bob Robertson in the 2014 race.
The event will begin 5 p.m. at Kafe Kokopelli, 37940 Live Oak Avenue in Dade City.

Moore previously served on the Department of Elder Affairs Advisory Council, which assists legislators on behalf of the House of Representatives.
A former president of the Wesley Chapel Republican Club, Moore also owns VR Business Sales and Mergers & Acquisitions. He founded CareFirst Home Care, a company providing the elderly with home health services, which he sold in 2011.
