Patrick Murphy launches new ad to kick-off general election

Kicking off the general election, Patrick Murphy’s campaign will air a new television ad beginning today entitled “Moving,” focused on several of Murphy’s accomplishments in his first term.

This 30-second spot is backed by a significant buy on network and cable TV in the West Palm Beach-Treasure Coast market following the campaign’s recently announced $1.4 million ad reservation in the race for Florida’s 18th District.

“The one thing you hear time and again when talking to residents across the Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches–regardless of party affiliation–is how active Congressman Murphy is in the community and how in tune he is with his constituents,” remarked campaign manager Anthony Kusich.  “Entering the general election, Murphy’s support on a grassroots level continues to soar, which is in no small part due to his commitment to serving the district, leading on the issues that matter the most, and building a better and brighter future for Florida’s 18th Congressional District.”

Here is the text of the ad:

“Ever since I was elected, I haven’t stopped moving. I led a push with Democrats and Republicans to protect retirement benefits for our veterans and held the VA accountable for excessive wait times. I sponsored a law to ensure women are given equal pay for equal work.  I fought to secure $38 million to clean up our lagoon, protecting it for future generations. I am Patrick Murphy and I approve this message because I’m always working for you.”
