Patrick Murphy, the Jupiter-based Democratic representative running for the Democratic nomination for Senate, raised a $1.5 million haul in fundraising for the third quarter of 2015, and has nearly $3.5 million in hand in his race against Alan Grayson.

“I am humbled by this incredible support from Floridians across the state, from the Keys to Orlando to Pensacola,” Murphy said in a statement today. “It’s clear that Floridians are ready to elect a leader who will listen to them, work to strengthen Social Security and Medicare, and fight relentlessly to grow Florida’s middle class.”

“This kind of support is essential to waging an effective campaign that reaches every single Florida voter. I’m more confident than ever that our campaign will have the resources to win this race — both the primary and the general election,” said Campaign Manager Josh Wolf.

Over the past three quarters, Rep. Murphy has raised $4.2 million, more than any other candidate in the race — either Democrat or Republican.

Alan Grayson announced later on Thursday that he had raised slightly more than $743,000 in the third quarter.
