PBA endorses Darden Rice for City Council District 4

Darden Rice announced today she has received the endorsement of the Sun Coast Police Benevolent Association. That’s the union which represents most of the city’s police officers.  The PBA all but put Bill Foster into the mayor’s office in 2009.

In terms of important endorsements, this is a big get for Darden Rice. That Rice won this endorsement over Carolyn Fries and Tea Party activist Dr. David McKalip says something about where this race is heading.

“This is an important endorsement,” acknowledged Rice. “Ensuring the public’s safety and working collaboratively with our city’s police force is one of the council’s top responsibilities and we have to get it right.”
