Child advocates in Pinellas hope to work with policy makers at the state and local levels to ensure sound policies that promote the interests of all children and are scheduling a series of meetings with Pinellas County legislators to help facilitate dialogue concerning critical education issues. Rep. Rick Kriseman (D-St. Petersburg) has confirmed his participation at a meeting hosted by the Pinellas County Council of Parent Teacher Associations (PCCPTA) scheduled for 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Sexton Elementary at 1997 54th Avenue North, St. Petersburg. Rep. Darryl Rouson (D-St. Petersburg) is also confirmed for a visit the same evening at 6:30 p.m. at Jamerson Elementary at 1200 37th Street South, St. Petersburg.
