Perhaps Rick Scott should stop recruiting agency heads from Indiana, hmmm?

As reported earlier, Education Commissioner Tony Bennett is expected to resign today in the wake of an Associated Press report that school grades in Indiana, where he previously worked, had been changed to benefit a political donor.

I know it’s all the rage within Republican policy circles to recruit leaders from Indiana, where GOP star Mitch Daniels served as governor, but perhaps Rick Scott should stop recruiting agency heads from that state.

First, it was Department of Corrections secretary Edwin Buss, who resigned abruptly in 2011, after seeming “unprepared for the amount of scrutiny legislators, interest groups and media give to Florida’s prisons, which have a legacy of controversy and scandal.”

Today, it’s Bennett.

If Governor Scott employs a head-hunter to find a new staffer for his administration, hopefully he will tell them to bypass the Hoosier state.
