Democratic State Rep. Perry Thurston announced raising $67,098 in his Attorney General campaign from the beginning of February until the start of the legislative session.
These totals are more than triple the campaign’s previous best month, bringing it “to nearly $100,000.”
“I am excited about the growing support for our campaign,” Thurston in a statement released Monday. “Florida deserves an Attorney General who will work for the middle class and protect consumers not someone who works to protect special interests and Governor Scott’s political interests.”
As well as tripling the amount raised, Thurston also tripled the number of individual donors, with 135 new supporters contributing an average of $50.
“Perry’s growing support shows Democrats are ready to beat Pam Bondi,” said Thurston’s new campaign manager Zachary Meunier. “We are particularly excited about tripling our number of individual donors because it gives us room to continue to grow.”
Thurston’s also have a small “burn rate” with expenditures less than 7 percent of the total raised.
