SCG Corporate and Governmental Affairs, a Tallahassee based corporate consulting and lobbying firm, today announced that Bill Williams, a former Gulf County Commissioner and leading expert on the RESTORE Act, has joined the firm. Williams will be based in the firm’s Tallahassee office, but will serve clients along the Gulf Coast.
Bill Williams was elected to serve Gulf County in 2004 and was subsequently reelected in 2008. He also attended the University of Florida’s Natural Resource and Leadership Fellowship Program to enhance his knowledge of natural resource protection, comprehensive planning and smart growth strategies for local governments.
Bill was elected by his peers to serve as President of the Florida Association of Counties. As President-Elect and as President he led FAC’s efforts to respond to the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and was asked to testify before Congress on its effects on the gulf coast of Florida. In 2011, Governor Rick Scott appointed Bill to serve on the Workforce Florida Board of Directors.
“Bill is a tremendous addition to our firm. His expertise on RESTORE and the Deepwater Horizon spill will be a valuable asset to our clients, both public and private,” said Managing Partner Richard Reeves. “We are very excited to have Bill join our team.”
