Personnel note: Chris Corr shifts to board of trustees at University of Florida

Today, Gov. Rick Scott announced the appointment of Chris Corr to the University of Florida Board of Trustees.

Corr, 48, of Lake Lure, North Carolina, has been the executive vice president of AECOM since 2008. Previously, he was executive vice president of real estate for the St. Joe Company from 1998 to 2008 and a senior manager with the Walt Disney Company from 1992 to 1998.

His extensive community involvement includes serving on the Florida Board of Governors for the State University System from 2011 to 2012 and on the Florida Council of 100 Board of Directors since 2009.  In addition, he served on the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission from 2008 to 2010, on the Florida Constitution Revision Commission from 1997 to 1998 and in the Florida House of Representatives from 1990 to 1992. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. Corr will serve for a term beginning May 7, 2012 until January 6, 2016.

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
