This personnel note caught our eye for two reasons. Number one, we always enjoy reporting about the hot stove league that is the Tallahassee lobby corps. It’s almost as interesting as fantasy baseball; it’s certainly more transactional.
Second, this personnel move involves the firm which represents, if that’s even the right word, the City of St. Petersburg. That is, Bill Peeble’s firm, which has attracted John Wayne Smith, formerly the legislative affairs director at the Florida Association of Counties.
The hiring of Smith is, of course, a smart move for Peeble’s firm as it already represents the Florida Association of Counties, the Florida League of Cities and several other municipal and local goverments.
Replacing Smith on an interim basis will be Eric Poole.
