On Monday, Florida Rep. Janet Adkins announced the resignation of one of her main District 11 staffers. Alexis Zink has been communications director of Adkins’ Fernandina Beach office since 2011. She was a significant connection between the Republican House member and her constituents.

Zink is moving to Washington D.C. with her husband Kyle, a lieutenant in the United States Navy; he will be stationed in the nation’s capital this fall. Previously, Lt. Zink was located in Kingsbay, Ga.

“It has been a pleasure aiding Rep. Adkins in her important legislative work,” Zink said in a statement. “Our office prioritized communicating with citizens on important issues affecting Northeast Florida, and it was a great honor to be a part of the legislative process and help keep people up to date on issues impacting their lives.”

“Alexis will be greatly missed,” Adkins said. “Her positive and energetic approach to the challenges that face the constituents of the 11th district has been a huge help in the success of our work for the people we serve.”

Adkins ‘ District 12 covers the area between Fernandina Beach and Jacksonville Beach, as well as much of Nassau County.
