Public affairs communications firm Sachs Media Group named Herbie Thiele as its new Deputy Director of Public Affairs.
As Sachs Media prepares for the 2014 Florida legislative session ramp up, Thiele’s new role will enhance the organization’s renowned public affairs division.
After joining Sachs Media in early 2009, Thiele has collaborated with several local, state and national clients on strategic messaging and tactics, target audience engagement with excellent results.
Thiele was also recognized recently by SaintPetersBlog as one of the “30 Under 30″ rising Florida political stars.
“Herbie is a seasoned communicator with an extensive network of contacts and unmatched person-to-person skills that help us achieve our clients’ objectives,” said president and CEO Ron Sachs in a statement released today. “Whether the goal is to gain policymaker support, persuade key opinion leaders or energize grassroots advocacy, we are the go-to firm for public affairs and Herbie Thiele is a key part of our team.”
Thiele will work closely with senior vice president Ryan Banfill, who administers the public affairs department and is the firm’s director of strategy and research. Banfill previously served as senior speechwriter and press secretary to Florida Governor Lawton Chiles, chief communications strategist in the Florida House and a staff director in the Florida Senate.
Banfill and Thiele will collaborate with recently hired senior policy counsel Karen Cyphers. Cyphers served as policy director for the gubernatorial campaigns of Charlie Crist in 2006 and Bill McCollum in 2010, as well as director of health care policy for the Florida Medical Association.
