The St. Petersburg Chamber of Comerce’s Administrative Coordinator, Rita Wesley has recently accepted a position as Deputy Directory of Volunteers and Events for the Republican National Convention 2012.

Rita’s new role is not political in nature, rather it’s about promoting the Tampa Bay Area, recruiting and training the 7,500 volunteers needed to make the convention a success.

Rita has been working at the Chamber for over 7 years – building and sustaining many wonderful relationships with our community and our members. She has served as the Special Events Director, SPYP Program Director, Leadership St. Pete Program Director, Membership VP, Special Assistant to the President and Administrative Coordinator.

“There’s no doubt in my mind – without Rita’s leadership, energy, dedication, enthusiasm and knowledge – we would not have made the progress we’ve made in this short time, said Chris Steinocher, President and CEO of the St. Petersburg Chamber. “I will be forever grateful for her contributions to my own personal success, the growth of this community and the value of this our organization.”
