Ken Burke has legitimized his run for a fourth term as Pinellas County’s Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller.
The 55-year-old Republican from Seminole filed all the necessary paperwork on Monday to make the run official.
He’s been serving as Pinellas’ Clerk of Court since 2004. During both the 2008 and 2012 elections, he ran unopposed. So far, no one else has filed to run against him in 2016.
Cheryl Bowman, of Largo, is listed as Burke’s campaign treasurer, although no campaign contributions for the Burke camp have been reported so far.
The only other Pinellas County constitutional officer to have filed for a 2016 run is current Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark.
Clark, 66, has been the county’s elections supervisor since 2000, when she was appointed by Gov. Jeb Bush. She was subsequently elected that same year, as well as in 2004, 2008 and 2012.
