In addition to the Republican candidates raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for their individual campaigns, the Pinellas County Republican Executive Committee has now raised $803,540 for the 2012 election cycle, making it one of the best-financed county organizations in Florida.
According to the most recent campaign finance reports, the Pinellas GOP has not only raised over three-quarters of a million dollars, it has also spent $570,000 on programming, outreach and training likely to pay off for local candidates in November.
The party still has more than $232,000 left in its campaign account, in addition to the money it has carried over from previous election cycles.
To give this prodigious fundraising a sense of proportion, consider that the money the Pinellas GOP has left on-hand, after all of its programming and training, is $34,000 more than what the Pinellas Democratic Party has raised for the entire 2012 cycle. As of August 9, the PDP has raised $199,784.
The Republicans have outraised Democrats by four-to-one in a county in which Democrats outnumber the GOP by more than three thousand voters.
