Our man in the Panhandle, Rick Outzen, says that political strategist Scott Miller told the Republican Club of Santa Rosa County that he’ll be running in the special election for House District 2.
Miller is the owner of Open Market Research and handled the unsuccessful 2012 campaigns of John Powell (Escambia County Sheriff), Jesse Casey (Escambia County Commissioner, District 1), Jim Taylor (Escambia County Commissioner, District 5), Logan Fink (ECUA) and Hugh King (Escambia County Commissioner, District 3).
Outzen points out these candidates were more successful in Santa Rosa County, where the House seat is based, but trying to find any information on the Santa Rosa Supervisor of Elections website is nearly impossible.
Miller is also the cousin of State Senator Greg Evers, so make of that what you will.
