Sam Henderson has a less-than-one-point lead over rival Bob Worthington in the race for Mayor of Gulfport, according to the latest survey from St. Pete Polls.

Henderson draws 30.5% of respondents support, while Worthington takes 29.3%. Over 40% of voters say they are still undecided.

Henderson and Worthington are running to replace Mike Yakes, who is retiring after 27 years of serving the city of Gulfport. The election is slated for Tuesday, March 12.

Keeping the race so close are both candidates’ positive approval ratings. Both Henderson and Worthington are viewed favorably by 41% of voters and unfavorably by 14% or respondents.

A total of 267 respondents were logged. Further details about the poll can be found here.
