Of those providing a response, Rice received 53.2% of the vote compared to 46.8% for Gualtieri. Those who responded that they did not know were not factored into the totals.
The survey was conducted by St. Pete Polls of 393 likely voters, but is not considered scientific. Still, the results reflect the general consensus that the GOP primary for Sheriff will be a close race right up until Election Day. If anything, the poll shows that Gualtieri is still in the race despite a recent rash of difficult headlines about the Sheriff’s office.
