Poll watch: It's close in Alabama, Romney's up in Cali and Gingrich is leading in Miss.

As the race for the Republican nomination, here are the latest polls:

A new Rasmussen survey in Alabama shows a very tight Republican presidential race. Newt Gingrich is barely ahead with 30%, followed by Rick Santorum at 29%, Mitt Romney at 28% and Ron Paul at 7%.

A new Public Policy Institute of California poll shows Romney with a slight lead over Santorum in the GOP presidential race, 28% to 22%, with Gingrich at 17% and Paul at 8%.

The California Republican primary isn’t held until June 5.

And a new American Research Group poll in Mississippi finds Gingrich leading the Republican presidential primary with 35%, followed by Romney at 31%, Santorum at 20%, and Paul at 7%.
