Power companies start fuel cost hearings next week

The Public Service Commission next week begins to hear justification of fuel cost pass-ons by the investor owned electric utilities, a critical part of customers’ monthly bills, reports the News Service of Florida. The commission starting Monday will evaluate what customers are paying to Florida Power & Light Company, Progress Energy Florida, Tampa Electric Company, Gulf Power Company, and Florida Public Utilities Company for those companies’ fuel costs.
