The Florida House budget is out, and it’s pretty lean compared to prior years, Marc Capoto reports. It weighs in at $66.5 billion — $3.9 billion less than the current year. The gap is the result of three things: A loss of federal stimulus money, increase in Medicaid rolls and the socking away of at least $1 billion in savings.
There are also fewer jobs. The House budget reflects 121,000 jobs, down from 126K.
