Florida House of Representatives Speaker Will Weatherford announced committee assignments for the upcoming legislative session.

Weatherford said he tried to give members their first choice of assignments. Most committees have overwhelming Republican majorities, reflective of the body as a whole, though there are a few that are close.

“With input from Members, I have made committee and subcommittee assignments that align your talents and experience with the policy needs of our state,” said Weatherford.

Beginning next month, the Legislature will meet in Tallahassee for the first of several week-long committee weeks in preparation for the 2013 legislative session.
