Former state Rep. Reggie Fullwood invites friends and supporters for a campaign kick-off party this afternoon as he officially launches the race to retake House District 13.
The Jacksonville Democrat’s fundraiser begins 6:30 p.m. at his campaign headquarters at 1710 N. Main St. in Jacksonville. Food and drinks will be provided.
Two paperwork errors prevented Fullwood from qualifying in the November election, leading to the scheduling of a special primary and election.
Fullwood faces Jacksonville City Council member Johnny Gaffney in the Dec. 16 primary, with the winner takes on Jacksonville Republican Lawrence Jefferson in the general election on Feb. 17.
“As a true Democrat,” says the event announcement, “Reggie Fullwood is proud to run on his record of working to expand Medicaid, protecting our public schools, and expanding access to affordable housing in his community.”
