Rep. Dana Young announced today that she is strongly backing Rep. Jeff Brandes for the State Senate. Brandes is running for a newly drawn Senate seat that encompasses all of South Tampa and parts of Pinellas County.

“I am excited to have this opportunity to endorse my friend and colleague Rep. Jeff Brandes in his race for the Florida Senate,” said Young. “During our time serving together in the Florida House, it became clear to me that Jeff and I are very similar in our approach to public service: working hard, staying true to our beliefs, and never forgetting the voters back home who elected us to serve. As the father of two young children, a business owner, and veteran, Jeff is able to approach his job in Tallahassee with a personal perspective on the impacts of our decisions on everyday families and taxpayers. I know that Jeff Brandes will be a strong advocate for the Bay Area and will represent us well in the Florida Senate.”

“It is an honor to have the support of Rep. Young,” Brandes said. “She is a very well respected leader in the community and I look forward to working with her in the Senate as we continue to serve the citizens of the Tampa Bay region.”
