Rep. Jeff Brandes files memorial against taxes on reinsurance premiums

Rep. Jeff Brandes (R-St. Petersburg) today held a press conference to discuss memorials filed in the Florida House and Senate relating to a federal proposal by Congressman Richard Neal (D-MA) and President Obama?s Fiscal Year 2012 Budget that would impose a tax on reinsurance premiums. With support from The Florida Consumer Action Network, The Heartland Institute and The James Madison Institute, speakers discussed why the Florida Legislature is being asked to take a position on this federal legislation and the implications of the “Neal Bill” especially as they relate to Florida.
