Rep. Scott Randolph, D-Orlando, a standar-bearer of the left wing of the Democratic House caucus, confirmed Tuesday that he won’t seek re-election, but is considering a run for the state Democratic Party’s chairmanship, reports the News Service of Florida.

Instead, Orange County commissioner Linda Stewart will run for the House seat he had planned to seek.

“Both Susannah and I will work as hard to put Linda Stewart in the Florida legislature as we have done for the last six years with many candidates in Central Florida.  I look foward to helping her campaign to victory in November,” Randolph wrote.
