Carlos Alfonso, the chairman of the University of Florida board of trustees, is being pushed out of his job by Gov. Rick Scott, The Gainesville Sun reported Friday. According to the Sun, Alfonso withdrew his application to be reappointed to the board after finding out that Scott was unlikely to approve it. Alfonso was first appointed to the board by Gov. Jeb Bush in 2001. “I’m not angry. I’ve been there 11 years. I’ve given a lot of myself,” Alfonso told the paper. “I’ve done the very best job I can, and I think the governor’s satisfied.”
