According to a new survey conducted by St. Pete Polls, Ahern is at 51% in the polls, while Ambrose is at 38.4%. Approximately 11% of voters remain undecided.
This is a major improvement for Ahern, who was up just 1.5% in a similar poll conducted last month.
Newly drawn, District 66 includes much of central-western portion Pinellas County.
The poll of likely voters was conducted Oct. 1 through Oct. 3.
