With his Tweets about wanting to see President Obama hung, Republican state House candidate Josh Black was already in the running for the Worst Candidate of 2014 award. But who’d have guessed he’d be a double nominee, this time for Oddest Campaign Expenditure By A Candidate?
Looking at Black’s campaign finance report for March, there is a $450.16 expenditure to Laces for Less. The purpose of this expenditure? Shoestrings, according to his finance report.
On it’s website, Laces for Less features a pair of 33″ round deep blue casual shoelaces for thirty-seven cents. Assuming — and this is a big assumption — that Black’s purchase involved shoelaces like those, that means he purchased something like 1,200 pairs of shoelaces.
Only the Good Lord knows what Black has in store with 1,200 pairs of shoelaces.
