Gov. Rick Scott announced two appointments on Thursday to fill vacant regulatory board seats: James Gabbert to the Sarasota County Charter Review Board and Leslie Campione to the Wekiva River Basin Commission.
Gabbert, a 53-year-old Sarasota resident, is head of the Arcadia-based Meyer & Gabbert Excavating Contractors. He fills the vacant seat created after the resignation of Charles Cooper for a period beginning immediately and lasting through November 4, 2014.
Campione, a 49-year-old Eustis resident, serves as Lake County Commissioner for District 4. She was also a former City Attorney for the Towns of Lady Lake and Montverde as well as the City of Umatilla. Campione fills an empty seat for a period beginning immediately and ending September 21, 2015.
