in Statewide/Top Headlines by

On Sunday, Gov. Rick Scott directed the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds to honor the memory of United States Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonin Scalia.

Flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of interment.

“I am honored to direct our flags to be flown at half-staff in memory of United States Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonin Scalia,” Scott said. “He was a devoted public servant who faithfully upheld the rule of law.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
