RPOF: Charlie Crist and Alex Sink: Leadership via press conference

The Republican Party of Florida today responded to comments made by Charlie Crist and Alex Sink regarding Charlie Crist’s politically-motivated call for a photo-op special session.

“While the Florida House and Senate will continue to work to towards innovative, meaningful and realistic legislation, offering a possibility of real solutions to this historic crisis, Charlie Crist and Alex Sink are using the same old playbook – playing politics and offering political rhetoric that provides nothing beyond press conference talking points,” said RPOF Executive Director Ronnie Whitaker.

“The problem for Alex Sink is that once you’ve used this disaster to try raise money for your political campaign, your credibility is thrown out the window,” continued Whitaker. “And for Charlie Crist, his feigned outrage doesn’t overshadow that fact that he waited until he was down in the polls to call a special session and then failed to offer a single substantive proposal.”

“It’s easy to sit back and fake leadership by showing up for photo opportunities and holding press conferences, but what Floridians are actually looking for from their current Governor and their CFO who would like to be Governor, are credible solutions. Instead, all Charlie Crist and Alex Sink have done is generate free publicity for their respective campaigns,” Whitaker concluded.
