With only three lobbyists — founder Bill Rubin, Melissa Akeson and Heather Turnbull — the Rubin Group posted nearly $1.9 million in earnings, reinforcing its solid advocacy role in both Tallahassee and around Florida.
For the third quarter of 2014, Rubin et al continued as one of state’s top lobbying firms, with 52 legislative and 66 executive clients. The Rubin Group reported estimated maximum earnings of $809,955 in legislative fees, $1,089,946 for executive advocacy — for a total of $1,959,898.
At the top of its extensive list is Florida Power & Light Company, which once again paid $50,000 in executive lobbying fees for between July 1 and September 30. Next comes leading housing organization The Richman Group and hospital giant HCA Healthcare, each paying up to $39,999 in executive and legislative fees apiece.
Also giving a maximum of $39,999 on executive advocacy in Q3:
