Scott dodges Fox News questions on IRS scandal

Monday, Stuart Varney asked Gov. Rick Scott about the IRS scandal on the Fox News’ “Your World with Neil Cavuto.” According to the News Service Florida, Scott seemed to evade the question.  He refused to speculate on whether conservative political groups received significant government scrutiny.

Varney asked Scott if he thought there was an attempt to sweep the controversy under the rug—without saying who might be doing the sweeping.

“Well, look,” Scott answered, “we cannot have any government agency that targets anybody, so we’ve got to understand why this was happening; were they targeting people?”

“I represent all 19.2 million people,” Scott added. “They all have to be treated the same way. Our federal government’s got to make sure all of our citizens across the country are treated fairly. But you know in our state it is about jobs.”
