Republican Gov. Rick Scott and Republican-turned-Democrat former Gov. Charlie Crist are preparing meet in the first of three debates.

This first showdown is basically the Winter Olympics of gubernatorial debates.

It is being produced by a non-English speaking network. It will be shown on tape delay. The first interpretations of what happens will come through the eyes of jaded reporters. And few people actually care who wins the debate. They just want to see someone slip on the ice.

Yeah, Scott vs. Crist 1 is the Nagano, Japan of political events.
