Sean Shaw adds $10,700 in May to widen HD 61 lead

Democrat Sean Shaw took in $10,700 last month to continue his fundraising lead in the Florida House District 61 seat, according to the latest reports from the Division of Elections.

The Tampa attorney now has a total of $175,419 overall. After spending just under $80,000 in expenditures, Shaw has $96,097 cash-on-hand.

Sean Shaw faces fellow Democrats Tatiana Denson, Sharon Carter and Ed Narain in the race to replace term-limited Rep. Betty Reed.

Longtime community activist Narain came in second in fundraising last month, raising $5,050 for a total of $89,296. With $26,758 in expenditures, Narain has $63,945 cash-on-hand.

Denson did not report any contributions last month, staying steady at $641 in donations; with a $1,000 loan, she has $1,037 in her war chest. Carter added $417 last month, for a total of $3,557 and $1,133 in cash-on-hand.

HD 61 is a heavily Democratic district covering the Tampa neighborhoods of Seminole Heights, East Tampa, Ybor City and parts of West Tampa.
