Search is on at Associated Industries for Barney Bishop’s successor

Read between the lines of this statement from Erika Alba, Chair, Associated Industries of Florida:

“Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) is halfway through another successful Annual Conference at the beautiful Breakers Palm Beach, hosting a record number of attendees. Today, we had a chance to reflect on the accomplishments of the past year and honor Champion for Business and AIF Councils’ Legislator of the Year award winners at our Third Annual Champions for Business Awards Ceremony. We also looked toward the future of business in Florida and of our association.

As was recently announced, Barney Bishop will be moving on from AIF at the end of the year, and we are beginning preparations now to find a successor and ensure a smooth transition for the association’s next leader. To that end, the AIF Board of Directors has named Cecil Pearce as the AIF Interim Managing Director to aid in the administration of the organization and Trey Traviesa to oversee the activities of the search committee as they seek qualified candidates for the role of president and CEO.”

That last line should put to rest any doubts about Traviesa’s role in the ousting of Bishop.
