Incumbent Democratic Senator Gwen Margolis, who began her public service career in the Florida Legislature when elected to the House of Representatives in 1974, has swept the endorsements issued thus far by those who have screened and publicly backed candidates.
In recent days, the United Teachers of Dade, representing the public school teachers of Miami-Dade County and their retired members announced their endorsement of Senator Margolis. Additionally, the Florida AFL-CIO, representing a half million hard-working members in Florida, announced their support of Sen. Margolis. The Florida Medical Association PAC with 20,000 members addressing those issues affecting the health and well being of their patients, threw their support to Margolis. And Associated Industries of Florida, representing most major employers in Florida employing countless workers across the state, endorsed Senator Margolis.
“I proudly accept the support of these diverse interests of Florida, with one common thread, working together to insure the sound economic future of Florida,” said Margolis.
